d) What do you think can be done to help young people understand the importance of marriage?
What I think can be done is if young people talk to a couple that is divorced so they could tell them what went wrong in their marriage so the young people know not to make the same mistakes, and if a married couple talked to the young people so they could tell them how their marriage is going and how they know that they are in love.

"A Day To Remember"

"What is marriage to you?"

*Martha- Marriage is the union of two people, blessed by God for all their life.
*Jackie- Marriage is the union of two people, to form a family.
*German- Marriage is a commitment between man, woman, and God.
*Hector- Marriage is the union of two humans for the rest of their lives.

b)In your opinion, what is marriage?
In my opinion marriage is when a couple decides they want to be with each other for the rest of their lives. Therefore they marry each other to make their relationship stronger and to be united and blessed by God.

c)What is important for a marriage to be successful?
What is important for a marriage to be successful is to have trust for each other, being able to tell each other what's on their mind without much hesitation, lots of love, and being able to put up with your partner when they are having attitude problems.

d)What do you think can be done to help young people understand the importance of marriage?
I think what can be done to help young people understand the importance of marriage is to show us how a marriage works and to show us people that are married and represent good examples of it.

"Vanessa & Chris Together Forever"

A. Martha- “Is something special you share with someone else.”

Neto- “Sharing your life with one another.”

Sara- “A very important commitment between you and your significant other.”

Yirley- “A sacred union of two souls for an eternity.”

B. I think that marriage is when two people find love and want to spend the rest of their lives together.

C. I think what is important for a marriage is for both persons to love and understand each other, to be honest, respect one another, be there through rough times.

D. Teaching them what it truly is, a bond between two people that fell in love with one another and made the decision to share their lives together.

"An Eternal Everlasting Soul"

What does marriage mean to you?

Yirley- “Marriage is a sacred eternal union of two souls.”

Sara- “Marriage is an obligation and a responsibility.”

Robert- “A marriage to me is a commitment to God and the one you person you love.”

Peter- “Marriage means to me that you spend your life until death with a special

person.”

B. In my opinion marriage is starting a new chapter in life which you get to share with someone else and also that you create with one another for eternal life. It’s a big responsibility.

C. What’s important for a marriage to become successful is to be honest to each other, to be there for one another and to give and take love as it comes along. What’s more important of becoming successful in marriage is making an EFFORT for “your” marriage.

D. What I think that can be done to help young people understand the importance of marriage is to show them what marriage is all about. Marrying someone is your choice of making that one person the “one,” the one person that will always be there for you no matter what. You are making your choice if you want to spend your whole entire life right beside them. Through every tragedy that may come along with it. Marriage is really a strong word to use. The act of it is also very hard to do. But always know that there is someone always standing right next to you and that you can always count on.

"OUR WEDDING IS A DAY, BUT OUR MARRIAGE IS FOREVER"

a) ask four people ( 2 males, 2 females) the question "what is marriage to you?"

male 1 - Jose - marriage is when two people combine to be as one to form a family.

male 2 - Larry - marriage is when two people that live separate lives live one life together forever, sharing possessions. Marriage is forever, a life long commitment to someone, it is rather than feeling that you want to be with that one person forever, but knowing that you're going to spend your life with forever until death, becoming a family, knowing no one can replace your significant other

female 1 - Gladys - marriage is something beautiful, that you learn something from the person and of life. marriage is being responsible for your actions

female 2 - Karol - marriage is a bond between two people that love and respect one another. It is a special union that share their life together. Marriage is working together as a team to have a successful long lasting marriage.

b) In your opinion, what is marriage?

In my opinion marriage is a commitment between two people living their lives together. These marriages are to last until death, through any argument, and any difficult point in the relationship. A marriage lasts for a lifetime. The couple should not have affairs and be able to trust each other with anything. They should be comfortable with anything they do and respect each other with everything.

c) what is important for marriage to be successful?

For a marriage to be successful, being honest, respectful, having trust, and communication. Being honest for a successful marriage is important because if one is not honest with the other then there would be no trust with the other person and without trust one person would begin to feel some doubt that the other person is having an affair, or not being completely faithful, or honest. Being respectful with each other is also important because if one doesn't respect the other then, the person that isn't being respected will not like it and might end up wanting a divorce because the person doesn't like the way the other treats him or her. Having communication in a marriage is also important because if there is no communication, then the marriage wont work as well because if no one is communicating to one another then their would end up being doubts about one person because the other isn't telling them what's going on with them, how they feel about each other and so on.

d) what do you think can be done to help young people understand the importance of marriage?

d

What I think can be done to help young people understand the importance of marriage is projects such as this one. I think this project will help me realize the sacrifice and the responsibility i will need to prepare a wedding and to be wed.

"Love as Boundless as the Sea"

a. Christian Campos: "I think marriage is a big step and you have to think clearly before taking it. There are many things to think about: kids, money, where to live and whether it's really going to work out with that person. That's why I think you really need to get to know the person for at least three years before you actuallly talk about marriage."
Dora Rodriguez: "Before it didnt mean much to me, but now it means so much more; security, love, trust, and respect..."
Judy Garcia: "Well I don't really know. I know I want to get married because with marriage comes more trust and more respect for each other. I feel more sure that the person I love will be with me forever after getting married."
b. In my opinion, marriage is an unbreakable and everlasting bond between two hearts, two souls that complete each other. God forms this bond.
c. There are many elements needed in order to make marriage successful. They include love, trust, respect, communication, loyalty, and fidelity.
d. I believe young people now in day don't really understand the importance of marriage, males in particular. I've noticed that most males fear commitment and most females now believe that they don't have to wait until marriage to engage in sexual intercourse. In order to help young people who have this mentality we can form youth groups or clubs in schools that talk about this issue more seriously and can help advise teenagers.

by Gladys
"True Love"

A) Ask 4 people the question “what is marriage to you?”

Leslie: it is the legally recognized union of two people

Sal: it is a contract established on a loving relationship between a man
and a woman in which they publicly promise to live together ‘for

better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health

until death do them part’

Gramps: it is the union of a man and a woman as husband and wife, which becomes the foundation for a home and family

Yadira: it is a union of a man and a woman by ceremony or common law.

B) In your opinion what is marriage?

Marriage to me is when two people who love each other and decide to

start a life and a family together

C) What is important for a marriage to be successful?

In my opinion there are a few factors that can make a marriage successful. Trust, you must trust your spouse whether it is to do a simple task or on a life changing decision. Communication, your spouse can’t read your mind you have to tell him/her what’s on your mind, what bugs you, what do you want to do. A lot of marriages result in divorce because of the lack of communication. Loyalty/Commitment - marriage is a lifelong commitment, meaning you have to spend the rest of your life with the same person “until death do you part.” It doesn’t happen on a drunken night in Vegas when you decide to do something risky. And finally the most important factor is love, not sensual love or friendly love, but it's the "they can’t live without you and would do anything for you even die" type of love.

A) What do you think can be done to make young people understand the importance of marriage?

Not all young people see marriage the same way some don’t even see marriage in their future because they find it in their best interest to just live with their boyfriend/girlfriend. If they were to break up they wouldn’t want to go through the process of divorce and lawyers and give half of their material things to the other and some just don’t see marriage important. Others get married out of obligation meaning they are expecting or some get married to get out of their house.

However there are some people who do see marriage in their future but don’t really understand the real meaning of it, they think just because they love somebody very much they think the next step marriage. Marriage is the foundation for a home and a family.

by Lorena
"To Love, Honor, and Cherish You All The Days of My Life, Is My Promise"

Ask 4 people "What is marriage to you?"
Enma: Marriage is two people being together through everything, good and bad. In marriage people need to have communication, be understanding, to be able trust one another, make each other happy, take care of each other, and be respectful to one another. Marriage is the union of a couple; to love each other for all their life. And from this love, God creates a new family.
Emmanuel: It's being faithful and understanding of one another. Like in any relationship, you have to be honest and you have to have a lot of communication.
Suzy: Something sacred, important, and beautiful that everyone should go through before having sex or having babies. It's a religious and beautiful bonding between two people. It's when two people who are madly in love with each other are ready to spend each other's lives together. Like when they're ready to show God that they've found the perfect soul mate He meant for them. Like "Ok God, I found the person you wanted me to find and just to show you how much I love them, I'm going to get married by the church to show you that I'm really committed."
Luis: To me it is simply a human notion designed to bond two people in union out of love, devotion, care, companionship, fidelity, sex, money, etc, but more often than not its out of love for one another. When one really loves another, you are with them until their last breath, no matter what. You want to help them out with anything and be there with them by their side. You know deep inside that you would give your life and fight anything to protect them. One would do anything to make them and keep them happy. When you love another you could care less who knows it! Your even proud to say you love them. Love, real love, is in itself a marriage of the soul, body and mind. It's the ONLY divine, sacred and most beautiful union I know to exist between two people. When you love you can NOT be without them. They can't be without you. You care and they care right back. All you need is LOVE. In the eyes of the law, it's a legal and binding agreement, to the church, its a holy union. But to me it simply is a ceremony to show the WHOLE world how much the couple loves each other.
B) In your opinion, what is marriage?
I think marriage is when two people join together to share their lives with one another in the most open and honest way they can. It is a relationship in which two people promise themselves to each other until their last breath. I think that God challenges those who are married to fully live out the promises they made to one another. They have to overcome all obstacles, because in marriage, you can't just walk away from problems. If the couple really loves each other, that is where true love will endure. There are many qualities that any relationship can establish, but in marriage these qualities are the most perfect sign that these two people are together because God lives in their hearts and has given them the gift of selflessness.
C) What is important for a marriage to be successful?
In order for a marriage to be successful one has to be honest, forgiving, has to be able to communicate openly, be caring, and understanding. They have to feel comfortable with each other and make each other happy. They basically have to be each other's best friends forever by being there for each other, listening, comforting, and above everything loving one another.
D) What do you think can be done to help young people understand the importance of marriage?
Our main role models are our parents, so we learn from them by seeing how they treat each other. Also we have to know what we want before taking a big step like marriage. I mean we can't just rush into things. People have to take time to get to know and love one another, and when they do, if they feel like God really meant for them to be together for the rest of their lives, then they can take the big step.

A. Ask 4 people (2 males & 2 females) the question "What is marriage to you?"
Tatiana: "It is an emotional, spiritual, and finanical contract. Love can only take you so far, you have to be aware that you are combining assets."
Carmen: "It is two people coming together because of love, also learning that you have to balance each other out and trust one another. You have to take the good and the bad."
Victor: "I think that marriage is useless. Everything that I can do within a marriage I can do as a single person."
Micheal: "It is the inability to think for yourself and the reinstatement of slavery."

B. In your opinion, what is marriage?
I think that marriage is when two people who love each other come together as one, and start a new life together.

C. What is important for a marriage to be successful?
The couple must trust and love one another. They also must be honest with one another and not have jealousy in their marriage. If they really love each other then they should be able to go through thick and thin.

D. What do you think can be done to help young people understand the importance of marriage?
Parents can show their children good relationship habits through their relationship with the child's other parent or other people. We need good role models to instill in us what a good marriage is like and the aspects of it.

"This is The Start of Something Magical"

a) What is marriage?
Ana: Marriage to me is two persons bonded together to love each other, and care of each other. The most beautiful thing is to get married when you truly believe that you are ready to take that next step in life because marriage also involves lots of responsibilities and it is not a game that you could quit any time you don't feel like you like being with that person anymore . But to me I think that if you would get married by the church it's better because that is our purpose in life, it's the purpose God gave us, and it's the purpose why we are on this earth. Marriage basically is loving, caring, and respecting your partner.
Paula: Marriage to me is happiness. Knowing you have found that person you want to grow old with, have your kids with, that person who you know will be there for you always. When you feel that way then you know you are in love and that's when you take the next step into marriage and not when you think you are in love. Marriage is something that is forever.
Jose: Marriage to me is that commitment you make when you have found that special one. Marriage is caring for your partner the same way you would care about yourself. You want their happiness before you want yours.
Ubaldo: Marriage to me is a commitment that is for all your life. If you get married it is because you want to get married and not because they are forcing you to get married because it's a serious thing.
b) In your opinion, what is marriage?
To me marriage is a personal commitment but it's also a commitment that you make to your partnert to love, care, trust, and appreciate that person for the rest of your life. It's knowing that no matter what life might bring today or tomorrow, whether it is good or bad you are not going to bail out on that person but be there and give support to your partner and let them know that even all they are going through you are there. Basically is just caring for your partner as you would care for yourself and loving them and putting them into consideration as you would to yourself.
c) What is important for a marriage to be successful?
For a marriage to be successful I think what is important is honesty, communication, trust, and understanding. Honesty is important because without honesty it does not work. You have to be honest when things are not right or when you are doing something that you would not tell your partner because you know they would not approve of it and by not being honest your showing that the love is not really there. Communication because if you don't communicate things then how will you know what's going on or how would you know if there is something wrong or even if that person really loves you. Trust because if you don't trust your partner than you are not sure of your partner's love for you and even your love toward them.
d) What do you think can be done to help young people understand the importance of marriage?
What could be done I think is really talk to them and let them see that their idea of marriage might be far off from the truth or maybe even wrong of what they believe marriage is all about. Or maybe like at church they could have like pre-marriage programs to make young people understand the real meaning or a marriage.
